Associate Consultant

If you’re an ambitious undergraduate or a professional a few years out of college, we want you to explore our Associate Consultant (AC) role.

As an associate consultant, you’ll apply and develop your analytical, interpersonal, creative thinking, business management and leadership skills from day one. You’ll begin as a generalist and be placed in the thick of the action, as you work side by side with some of the best consultants in the business.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Every day is different, but here’s a sample of what you can expect to experience and accomplish through this post:

  • Work on a case team with three to five other consultants, owning a distinct aspect of the project
  • Take charge of identifying information sources, gathering and interpreting data, executing analysis, and presenting findings to case team members and client stakeholders
  • Interview clients’ customers, competitors, suppliers and employers—work that will become the basis of the case team’s strategic recommendations
  • You will manage the day to day execution of a client project while guiding and developing less tenure individual team members.
  • You’ll work directly with clients – usually on site – and you’ll take ownership of the workstream or its end products.
  • You will make an important contribution to the analysis, design, and implementation of business performance approaches, developing tailor-made solutions and working closely with clients to ensure positive impact and sustainable results.
  • You will have the opportunity to build on your proven leadership skills and leverage your interest in inspiring others, building strong relationships, and creating a true followership.
  • In a collaborative team setting, you’ll work closely with others but also autonomously with little direction.  Your superior analytical, quantitative and conceptual thinking skills and strong interpersonal and communication skills will ensure successful client projects and team performance.
  • Client project work typically includes gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing recommendations for presentation to client management. From there, you will implement those recommendations with client team members.
  • You’ll also gain new skills and build on the strengths you bring to the firm.
  • After accumulating appropriate experience, take responsibility for supervising more junior ACs.
